President's Message

Summer is a great time to reflect, recharge, and invest in our growth as professionals and leaders. June was an exciting month for our chapter as members and volunteers came together to learn, lead, and serve. We successfully completed our Q2 Volunteer Leadership Forum, where our volunteer leaders celebrated our progress and discussed new ways to better serve our members and community.

We were also delighted to welcome Chabot College as a Silver Sponsor for Symposium 2026. Their partnership reflects our shared commitment to advancing project management education and developing future project leaders.

Another highlight was our Multi-Chapter Women in Project Management Forum, Resilient Leadership: Translating Sports Dynamics into Project Success. The session provided inspiring insights on leadership, teamwork, and resilience while reminding us that great leaders create impact both within their organizations and in the communities they serve.

As we move into July, we look forward to another exciting month of learning and connection. We begin with our New Member Orientation, a great opportunity for both new and existing members to learn about PMI membership, discover what our chapter has to offer, and explore ways to get involved. Whether you are new to PMI or a long-time member, I encourage you to register and discover new ways to connect and engage with our community.

From our PM Insights sessions on Leading and Navigating Through Uncertainty and Portfolio Project Management with Atlassian Tools, to our Agile in Jira: Turning PMPs into Scrum Professionals full-day workshop and our Women in Project Management special event, Building a Resilient Career Identity in the Age of AI, July offers something for everyone looking to build new skills and prepare for the future of work.

Looking ahead, registration for the PMI Silicon Valley Symposium 2026 opens this month. Under this year's theme, Lead the Shift: Adaptive PM in the Age of AI, the Symposium will bring together project professionals, industry experts, and thought leaders to explore how we can adapt, innovate, and lead in an AI-driven world.

We are also in the final weeks of accepting speaker submissions. If you have experiences, lessons learned, or innovative ideas to share, I encourage you to submit your proposal and be part of this exciting event.

Finally, our chapter's success is made possible by the passion and dedication of our volunteers. If you are looking to develop leadership skills, expand your network, and make a meaningful impact, I encourage you to join our volunteer team and become part of something bigger.
