We are pleased to present a survey of project management education providers for the southern San Francisco Bay area. It is intended as a guide for the PMI – Silicon Valley Chapter members and based on information provided by each of the institutions. The PMI – Silicon Valley Chapter has categorized the information into table format as a starting place for the search. If available, a link to their web site has been provided.

Education Criteria Definitions

Education Level

 

  • CAPM™ – Lowest-level project management education; for support of PMI Certificated Associate in Project Management (CAPM™) credential
  • PMP® – Mid-level project management education; for support of PMI Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential
  • Advanced – Upper-level project management education; for advancement of certified PMPs


Location

  • South Bay – Generally south of Belmont and Fremont
  • East Bay – Oakland/Berkeley and points east
  • San Francisco – San Francisco and points south to Belmont

    PM Credential
  • Certificate – Credential offered by most professional development organizations upon completion of a set program of courses in a specific field
  • Degree – Credential offered by a university/college for a specific, academic field of study
  • Individual Classes – Individual classes are available, without the option to obtain a certificate or degree

    Cost
  • Low – Less than $800, per course
  • Medium – Between $800 and $1500, per
  • course
  • High – Greater than $1500, per course
  • Note: Multiple entries indicate prices below and above the line

    Delivery
  • Classroom – Public classes held at a local location.
  • Virtual – Electronic delivery of classes to the student’s location
  • On-Site – Private classes held at corporate locations

    Education provider is a PMI® Registered Education Provider (REP). Fundamentally, the education provider is committed to providing material consistent with the PMI® Guide of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and will issue education credits for certification maintenance in accordance with PMI’s guidelines.
