Tools and Techniques: Critical Question Mapping – A different slant on project planning |
|
Last date for On-line Registration: 12/02/2013 Synopsis: Critical Question Mapping – A different slant on project planning Critical Question Mapping is a project planning approach that starts with the ultimate question for your project or critical phase, and then works backwards in creating highly logical, and properly ordered, sub-questions. The organization of these sub-questions makes obvious decision points as well as the activities needed to answer the questions and make the decisions along the way. Too often in projects we focus on the activities and PUSH those activities into our plan. In Critical Question Mapping, the various questions PULL the activities into the plan, and at the proper time. Teams using this approach have found that they are more successful at meeting or beating schedule, reducing late term changes, avoiding late term set-backs, and even team cohesion and collaboration have been cited as being improved by this approach to planning. What you will see and experience • How questions drive certain beneficial behaviors • The 4 steps in the process • How you can apply the process to work you are doing • Delivered through a blend of presentation and interactive practice About the Speaker:
