Description:

Kanban has emerged as one of the leading Agile processes for managing the work of teams and individuals in areas such as IT Operations, Software Maintenance, Marketing, and many other business activities. Although Kanban is widely used, it is frequently implemented on an ad-hoc basis by people who are reinventing it without knowing that it already exists, or how to use it effectively.

This one-day class teaches the fundamental concepts of Kanban: What it is, when to use it, when not to use it, and how to do it. We will cover

* How Queues Behave

* The Four Flavors of Kanban

* Tracking

* Roles and Ceremonies

* Implementing Kanban

The hands-on exercises and class project provide experience in developing and managing the requirements and work for a Kanban process. Students will also learn the basics of implementing a Kanban process in their own environments.
