Demystifying Big Data Projects
The rise of a data-driven enterprise culture is launching data projects everywhere. According to Gartner, 70 to 80 percent of initiatives still fail. As a result, project leaders are receiving increased pressure to deliver. Relying on Project Management expertise is an obvious part of the foundation for success however, it takes more to lead these critical and sensitive endeavours. Systems, data, people and processes are tightly connected and must be carefully aligned to serve the fast evolving business goals. The Data PM needs vision, leadership and agility. S/he also needs to understand the promises and the challenges of Big Data: identify the game changers among the loud and constant buzz.

About the Speaker(s):
Gauthier Vasseur is Vice President of Marketing at Trufa, an application that uses Big Data to optimize business financial decisions. He’s also guest lecturer a Stanford Business School and leads a data curriculum at the continuing studies program. Previously, he led the strategy and the design of business intelligence and performance management systems at TriNet and co-founded Semarchy, a data management software company. Earlier, he was director of performance management at Google and senior director of enterprise performance management strategy at Oracle. He received MBAs from Nantes University and EDHEC Business School.
