PM Insights-Sunnyvale- Silo Busting: Transcending Barriers to Build High Performance Organizations

Slides for this event are attached here:  pdf PMIS_Slides_03112015

Presentation Description:

Organizational silos are the source of the most pernicious dysfunctions you can find within any company. These divisions serve to isolate people in the organization within hyper-specialized roles. Ostensibly, we do this in order to help people succeed. However, you can deliver a product successfully without compartmentalizing everyone and everything in an organization within an inch of its life. In this workshop, we explore the causes of organizational silos, their impacts, and the strategies that you can employ to help mitigate their impact on your teams and within your organization.

Takeaways

•   Understand what organizational silos are and their impact on teams

•   Learn about what causes silos to form and how to avoid creating them

•  Learn strategies to employ to help overcome organizational barriers and foster productive work across multiple groups/teams
