PM Insights Foster City presents

A Modest PMBOK® Guide Proposal:

Project Blame Management

When:  October 28, 2014 6:00pm-8:00pm
Where:  Peninsula Jewish Community Center, 800 Foster City Boulevard,
Foster City

Last date for online registration: 10/24/2014

Description:

Payson Hall asserts that risk management omits one critical topic: assuring that project managers and sponsoring executives are not held accountable for failures resulting from risks. Avoiding blame is a topic conspicuously absent from the current PMBOK® Guide, and in this talk, Payson proposes expanding the existing ten PMBOK® knowledge areas with an eleventh — “Project Blame Management” (BM) — which he believes formalizes and improves upon something most organizations already do: allocate blame for project failures.

Attendees in this participatory session will learn the advantages of a more structured approach to Blame Management:

●          Career enhancing benefits of avoiding blame for failure

●          Organizational value of ingratiating yourself to senior executives

●          Gaining improved team performance through motivation by fear

The presentation outlines Payson’s proposal for a Blame Management knowledge area by walking through significant aspects of his proposed “Blame Management Plan” addition to the traditional Project Management Plan.
