Synopsis:
The project/program manager role is one that requires a wide variety of skills and strengths. We all
lead in very different ways, based on our talents and areas for development. As a project/program
manager what strengths do you bring to the table? What about each individual team member? How
do your strengths complement those of the team and vice versa? It is not necessary for one person
to encompass all the strengths needed to make a team succeed. Learn how to identify and build on
your own strengths, and how to identify and build on your team's strengths. Research has shown
awareness of our strengths increase confidence, engagement and productivity. Through discussion,
exercises and case studies you will learn about:
1. Key strengths of an effective leader.
2. How to recognize different types of strengths and assess them in team members.
3. How to create an environment in which all team members will thrive.
About the Speakers:
Marlies Lloyd is a Career Strategist, Coach, and the founder of Red Pants Coaching.
In the world of work she is known as a “mover and shaker”, and focused on increasing personal,
career and workplace satisfaction. Her top 5 strengths are adaptability, activator, empathy,
communication and includer.
Marlies is certified in the MBTI and LEA 360. She holds a B.A. in Education from The Netherlands,
completed her Masters degree in Career Development at John F. Kennedy University, Pleasant Hill CA.,
and is a Certified Professional Co-active Coach.
Angi Dahl, MA is an educator and consultant in the areas of personal and professional development
and effectiveness. She has extensive experience in training, coaching, counseling, and staffing
management. Angi works in a wide range of industries with professionals in Fortune 50 to 500
companies.
Her bachelor’s is in Organizational Behavior with a master’s in Counseling Psychology from JFK’s
Graduate School of Professional Psychology. Angi draws from her background and studies in
neuroscience and strengths psychology to teach practical skills and approaches in decreasing stress
and improving performance.

At-the-Door Registration:
A limited number of registrations can be accepted at the door on a first come, first served basis. Once this limit has been reached, the event will be closed to additional attendees.
Cancellation Policy:
This event is a professional society meeting, held for the benefit of its members. The Plan Ahead registration fee paid is based on the registrant's ability to commit to attendance, ahead of time. The Plan Ahead registration fee will not be refunded for any reason, other than event cancellation, after normal business hours (5:00 PM, Pacific) on the registration deadline day. The PMI - Silicon Valley Chapter reserves the right to make last minute changes to program content and speakers, as circumstances dictate.
