The Forum’s mission is to provide a community for women interested in the Project Management profession, focused on mutual growth and sharing of knowledge through informal meetings, networking and mentoring. Through mutual sharing the group seeks to provide insights into Project Management issues common to multiple industries. This interaction enables participants to make significant positive changes to their work environment.

These meetings are open to anyone who is interested.

Meeting Leader: Jane Yee and Maura Jones  Contact Event Host

Jane-Yee-photoJane has more than 10 years experience in program management, product development, customer services, operations, and vendor management. She is a certified PMP with experience in New Product Introduction (NPI). Operations, and Customer Services.  She has solid understandings in business and product life cycles, from idea through development, verification, validation, release, support, and end-of-service (EOS).  She has managed programs with internal stakeholders and external contractual customers in varies fields: SYSTEM, SW, HW, Operations, infrastructure, OEM, ODM, supplier, Partner, and Joint Ventures. She has managed mission critical, cross functional programs interfacing with end users and successfully revamped engineering & operational processes.  She holds a BSEE from Tufts University with a minor in Engineering Management.  She taught a PMI exam preparation course for PM World and has experience at HP, Pearson, Nvidia, Cadence, and other high-tech firms.  Her extra curriculum includes gardening, reading cook books, scrap booking, various church ministries, and enjoying a good conversation.  

 

Maura Jones has been leading and currently co-chairing the PMI Silicon Valley Women in Project Management forum. Maura was one of the early leaders who help formed this PMI chapter, involve in contributing to this special interest group for years. She is a certified PMP, completed both Stanford and UC Berkeley’s programs on Project/Program Management. She has contributed her skills serving as part of the PMI Global Team in the Post Disaster Rebuilt Methodology after Asia Pac was hit with the tsunami. She is a contributing author for an open source textbook, Project Management Skills for All Careers.

She is a holistic leader bringing her lifecycle perspective to her teams in the areas of Security, Network, IT, Operations, Process, in segments of aerospace, manufacturing, financial service, software, health care, and educations, having held positions at Lockheed, VLSI Technology, Visa, Bank of America, eBay, Safeway, UCSF Medical Center, College of Notre Dame, University of San Francisco and Adobe.

Her approach is backed up in deliverables and execution, especially in many regulatory environments by her industry held certifications: CISA, CISM, CISSP, ITIL, and PMP.  She has both domestic and international experience. Her recent position at Adobe: Security PM executing the security architectures over the enterprise and corporate initiatives.

She is known for:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders, developing teams, project and program manage
  • Resolving compliance and process issues, especially in areas of security, operations and network
  • Creative brainstorming for new ideas and approaches to stagnate business state
  • Knowledge transfer and value add in the architecture, operations and execution chain

She also is active in the meets of the Silicon Valley Agile Leadership meetings.

Ms. Jones also is active in the security community with ISSA, ISC2 and supports the annual Cornerstones of Trust security conference. She’s a SME for CISSP and CISA in DR/BRP and Asset Security.

She has mentored others and is actively involved in the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and their STEM outreach.

She enjoys travel, art, aquafit, and learning different cultures.
