Description : Managing Projects with Mindjet MindManager Pro 7 When selecting tools for managing projects, our choices are usually limited to Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Project. Both offer powerful features, but both have severe drawbacks as well. Excel organizes information well, but is limited in features specific to project management. Project, on the other hand, is capable of managing huge projects, but most project managers don't need it's full range of tools and its complexity makes it an unattractive choice for small to mid-size projects. MindManager Pro 7 is designed specifically for project management. For most projects, it provides all of the tools you need to plan, track, and complete projects. You can define requirements, create Work Breakdown Structures, assign resources and other task properties, track projects, and close them--all from one document. MindManager's intuitive interface makes it easy for teams to collaborate throughout the project life cycle as well. For complex projects, you can easily export a WBS to Project as well, making it a useful front end to MS Project. During this workshop you will learn how to complete these important tasks using MindManager: Use MindManager's basic project management features Define project requirements Create a project charter Create a WBS and export it to MS Project Create a risk management plan Conduct status meetings Create a project archive Bring your laptops with a trial version of MindManager Pro 7 for Windows installed (Mac users: please come! but some of these features are not available for Mac). It's available at http://www.mindjet.com/.
