Description :

Project Managers increasingly face complex project & program management environments without any step by step approach or tools to simplify their ability to integrate scope, time, resource requirements & capacity, and cost.  The PMBOK and OPM3 both fall short on both “project technology” and a logical starting point with a step by step maturity approach while the dominant project technology manufacturers have software shortcuts that bypass conventional PMI processes.

The participant will discover a step by step project management maturity model patterned after the land mark PMI Research “PM ROI” study that incorporates both PMBOK principles and a “tenth body of knowledge”--- Project Technology.

The participant will understand three evolutionary methods and their paradigms of the past from spreadsheets to advanced web based project technology that will allow them to control and manage complex projects to achieve high performance.

The breaking of these paradigms will be demonstrated using two Fortune 200 success stories sharing how visibility – or forecasting—can be combined with controls in order to provide line management, program management, & executive management in process project information to implement project performance identification and recovery of troubled projects.

By attending this event, professionals will be able to:

  • Understand the characteristics of complex projects & programs causing performance failures

  • What are the missing “tenth body of knowledge”—Project Technology elements that are not in the PMBOK and how they can be used

  • Understand the elements and sequential steps of a successful “Project Management Maturity Model” that works

  • Envision by example how these best practices and project technology elements were successfully used in two Fortune 200 companies both attaining high performance results

  • Have as a takeaway how to apply these discoveries to their own complex projects and programs to improve project schedule and project cost results

Understanding Visibility (forecasting), Controls (schedule and resource/ capacity management), and Management (managing information that drives project recovery) can be done in a step-by-step manner that leverages productivity of latest technology available today.
